Ethos + The City Tribune

Ethical entrepreneurs, innovation and responsible business

In late 2014, having created the City Tribune, we were approached by some friends in the social enterprise sector to co-produce a new magazine about ethical businesses. A few months and meetings later, Ethos magazine was born.

Ethos is a digital platform and quarterly print magazine for and about people who embrace new and innovative ways of doing business. We cover stories about the most progressive business leaders, their teams, ethos and ideas to give you a unique insight into how they’re changing how business is done.

The people and ideas we feature are changing the world through their ethical aims and innovative ideas: their business models – crowdfunding, sharing economy, social responsibility, and Third Sector organisations – are simply the vehicle.

Writing about regional, national and international social enterprises and ethical businesses, we look at great businesses and the sector’s success stories; exciting ideas and progressive practice. They are stories about community and responsibility, fresh ideas and free thinking entrepreneurs.

Our first print edition of Ethos magazine was distributed in February 2017 to 15 countries worldwide. Since then, we’ve got four Ethos magazines under our belt as well as an Ethos special edition: People Power, which is a specially commissioned newsprint edition of Ethos, and explores the themes of community-led grassroots business models from across the UK and Europe. All of our magazines are available to buy from our online shop.

The City Tribune

Ethos magazine’s sister publication, the City Tribune, was a collaboration between a team of local journalists and a design agency to produce a paper, for the inaugural International Festival of Business in Liverpool. IFB was a seven week festival for business that welcomed over 50,000 delegates to the city; each of them got a copy of the Tribune.
