Make Liverpool is a brand new makerspace, events venue and co-working space, nestled in the heart of North Liverpool, the city’s burgeoning creative district.
Having received £30,000 of funding through the Beautiful Ideas Co., Make Liverpool approached Wordscapes to work on the company’s branding and core messages.
We created a brand, including logo for both Make Liverpool and Make Baltic, and a set of interchangeable icons to represent the space’s variety of arts and crafts. We also created this beautiful ‘machine’ illustration, combining the varied icons. We worked on Make’s tone of voice and how the new organisation described itself – both externally, to the press and supporters, and internally with tenants at its existing Baltic Triangle site – creating press releases, web copy and email content. We accompanied the logos with a set of brand guidelines, clear tone of voice, and a photography brief for press images, social assets and web.
In June 2017, Wordscapes worked with Make Liverpool on its crowdfunding campaign: Make Liverpool Weld. The campaign, which launched on Indiegogo and sought funding to install a metalwork workshop at its North Docks site.
Wordscapes worked closely with the Make directors to create a campaign strategy, a Maker Manifesto, a film and website copy in the run up to the launch.
